She has a vast amount of experience under her belt and offers workshops and consultation sessions for parents wanting a change in career, parents wanting to return to work after a career break or after being on maternity leave and much more.
14 January 2016 19.00 – 20.30  Sharkey’s Cuts for kids, Basement Room, 77 Abbey Road, London NW8 0AE Rajni Jayasekera An ex-city lawyer and journalist, Rajni is a local mother who has been through the entire process herself. She founded and runs Mums In The Wood and Mums In The Wood Education Consultancy. The consultancy offers advice on navigating the private and state school education system for schools in and around NW8 and NW3, advises on the 4+ assessment process and also offers mock assessment sessions which help serve as a practice run and prepare children for the real thing. Individual consultations are offered for those who want a more bespoke service. She has excellent relationships with many local schools and works with the schools, visiting and interviewing them, to ensure parents are provided with accurate information about the schools, their ethos and values and what they look for in a child.

Faisal Nasim Faisal has worked as a teacher and tutor for a number of years, specialising in preparing students for 7+, 8+, 10+, 11+ and 13+ entrance tests. He has personally helped hundreds of students gain admission to the school of their choice. He is a vastly experienced and successful educator with a deep understanding of the requirements and intricacies of the UK examination system for both independent and grammar schools.

Victoria regularly gives talks about British life & culture, as well as leading orientation & discovery walks locally. Her business, Perfect Cuppa English, helps to settle international people and expats into life in London through personalised English language support, British cultural understanding and orientation.

Hampstead (location to be disclosed upon booking) Rajni Jayasekera and Dipti Kanani Dipti Kanani, headmistress of Casa Dei Bambini and I will be running group mock assessment workshops for children going in for their 4+ assessments over the next few months.

We hope to provide the children with an opportunity firstly,

  • to practice separating successfully from parents,
  • interacting with other children whom they haven’t met before and
  • to remain in an unfamiliar environment with adults they have not met before.

In addition, we  will be structuring their time with us in a manner similar to how group assessments are run in schools and providing detailed reports to parents on our observations along with our suggestions and recommendations.

4+ Mock Assessment Workshops 2016

Please note also that we will only be allocating 5 places per time slot, per day to ensure that we are able to provide comprehensive feedback in our reports.

We have divided the sessions into single sex assessments and co-ed assessments.

The children will be offered a small snack and a drink halfway through so please advise us of any allergies or preferences when booking.

We will schedule more workshops over the coming months if there is enough interest. So please email us if the sessions are full but you would like to be waitlisted/put on a list for a future session.

Mrs Fisher spent five very happy and successful years as Headmistress of Broadhurst School. She will be talking about how to keep the 4+ assessment preparation going over the December holidays.
