The 11+ Process, A Talk by Ranulph Tees, Founder Cavendish Milton and Mums In The Wood
As the founder of Cavendish Milton, Ranulph Tees, (previously an investment banker), has built London’s leading provider of specialist 11+ support and has helped over 500 pupils and families navigate the 11+ exam system over the past decade. He has overseen multiple successful applications to Britain’s most elite schools and built Cavendish Milton to fulfil a service that no other company offers: a results-orientated and assessment-led approach to tuition, which at the same time focuses unreservedly on the welfare and long-term flourishing of each child.
His talk will focus on Demystifying the 11+: What it is, what it is not, and how you can prepare for it. He will talk about all major types of 11+ exam used in London, including:
- The London 11+ Consortium Exam
- The ISEB and CEM Pre-Tests
- Independent 11+ Exams for both girls and boys, used by the likes of St Paul’s, South Hampstead, North London Collegiate, Westminster, Highgate and Haberdasher’s
- Grammar (County) 11+ Exams
- If time permits, he will also briefly touch on 13+ exams, including common entrance and scholarship
He will perform a Q&A on questions of your choice after his presentation.
In addition to his work with Cavendish Milton, Ranulph spends time preparing his Research Thesis at the University of Oxford, where he reads for an MSc in Educational Assessment. Prior to Oxford, he was educated at University College London and the King’s School, Canterbury. He previously worked in finance at JPMorgan Chase & Co., and spent a brief period teaching Physics at the Oxford Tutorial College.
