Chitter Chatter – Benefits of Encouraging Multilingualism in Children
Learning a second or third language at an early age is said to improve the mind of a child especially when they are still young. Their minds, like sponges absorb languages much faster at a younger age than when they are taught later on. Most studies show that both cognitively and academically children who are taught a second or third language are more creative, have a better capacity for solving problems and score higher on most standardised tests. Furthermore, later on in life, they will be more adept at business, being able to reach out to more people across the globe practising the learned language in the country of origin perhaps when on holiday, would also serve to boost self confidence and independence. Learning a language also opens them to the culture and heritage that a particular language stems from and as such broadens their knowledge of the world at large.
Below are a few classes I have heard of and researched on the internet. We are however, as always open to any other suggestions and look forward to hearing from mums and dads around the area.
